Some of the world's best pole vaulters invaded Jordan Creek Mall in West Des Moines, Iowa, on April 27, 2011, in a special event put on in conjunction with the Drake Relays. They set up a full runway and pit and vaulted up into the empty space between the levels of the mall as mall patrons gathered on both levels to catch the action. In the end, it was emerging star Kylie Hutson and veteran Derek Miles who took home victory, with Hutson PR-ing 3 times in the process.
