Women In The Game – A New Spin On Sports Talk!
A distinct event experience recognizing the women who contribute to the sports industry

– from the sports fan to the sports professional.

Orlando, Florida (July 31, 2012) - Behind every great athlete is a powerful woman and Women In The Game is sure to prove just that.  Developed by Skye Buzz Marketing, an Orlando-based, independent marketing boutique, Women In The Game are one-of-a-kind fundraising events that are specifically geared toward shining a light on women who make an impact on sports as business and financial experts, community and athletic leaders, familial supporters, media professionals and sports enthusiasts.  A fall showcase of the event concept will be sure to delight sports professionals, sports enthusiasts and students preparing for a career in the sports industry.

The objective of Women In The Game is to create an event experience that will provide education, inspiration, and support to women who work or aspire to work behind-the-scenes in the male-dominated sports industry.  Women In The Game will launch their annual fundraising event series in Orlando, Florida on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at the posh downtown location, The MEZZ.  The Orlando launch will serve as a preview to the 2013 NBA All Star Weekend fundraiser in Houston, Texas -  which is quickly being positioned as the only "women-centric" event experience during the four-day festivity-filled weekend.  The event will benefit PACE Center for Girls of Orange County.  PACE Center for Girls is a nationally recognized and research based model that features a balanced emphasis on academics and social service with a focus on the future for girls and young women ages 12 to 17.

The event will consist of a brunch featuring an all-female panel discussion moderated by a surprise guest who will ask the panel about current events and issues affecting sports.  Guests will also enjoy a Mimosa reception with additional activities like an entertaining live auction, networking, raffle and more.  Women In The Game is exclusive and open only to guests who are local and national professionals in the areas of sports, entertainment, media,  community, and students currently enrolled in sports management programs. The event creates the perfect environment for networking, charity and great conversation.

“My goal for the event is to unite ambitious women from all walks of life, through their passion for sports, and offer them a special opportunity to understand how women play an integral part in the success of our beloved pro sports teams and athletes, said Sherisse Ayala, Founder and Event Producer of Women In The Game.   “I want to encourage women to take part in a conversation that inspires them to be confident alongside their male counterparts, and to provide an experience where they can feel empowered among other women in sport.  I really want to help create a network that will boost the career goals of our guests and help them achieve their dreams.”

Current event sponsors include The MEZZ - a state-of-the-art downtown Orlando event venue.  Confirmed panelists are Latria Leak, Community Relations and Cause Marketing Manager, Orlando Magic; Tara Gibson, University of Memphis Video Coordinator and former NBA D-league Assistant Coach (Texas Legends);  Wendy Conner, President of TRUE Marketing (Orlando Predators); Tiffany Greene, Reporter, Bright House Sports Networks; and Danielle Pollard, Administrator Director, The Professional Athlete Franchise Initiative. Wonderful sponsorship opportunities are still available.
