A new business, Heraea Marketing, has opened and focuses primarily on the marketing needs of professional female athletes.

Gigi Rock, owner, said that there is a fundamental need to create an affordable marketing service geared towards professional female athletes. "Professional Female Athletes are not exempt from the need to market themselves or their sport, they have different structural and budget concerns than some of the bigger name athletes in the media right now," said Rock.

"I am passionate about helping these professional female athletes move into the mainstream media, helping them receive the recognition and endorsements they deserve.  I have the expertise to address their needs and make a positive impact. The average professional female athlete does not make the money as the bigger name female athletes, because no one will take the time and effort to market them, because the average athlete does not have the money to hire an agency to help them.  Money and budgets are tight for these athletes and I am able to provide an elite level experience that you would find at a larger sports marketing agency, for a price that fits within the athlete’s budget," said Rock

Rock has more than 20 years of sports marketing experience including social media, strategic planning, marketing plan development, event management, tradeshow management, website development, product launches, customer retention programs, branding and public relations. She has worked on both the client and agency side which she said is valuable when dealing with athletes.

"I understand their concerns, to be in the media, to help build endorsements, and being sensitive to their budget, to creating the best positive results because I have seen firsthand the marketing need for female athletes,” said Rock.

Rock said she can positively impact the athletes, by creating and developing marketing pieces that showcase the athlete and their sport.

Rock’s background is in sports marketing, she has produced thousands of events for clients like Budweiser, Pepsi, Nexus, and major athletes and celebrities.  She was owner and Commissioner of the Women’s Professional Racquetball Organization.  She has worked as a business consultant for large legal firms and other agencies to help guide them in budget preparation and expenditures.  She serves on the Board of Directors for the Sedona Winefest and is a member of the National Association of Professional Women.

Rock’s pastime includes family, gardening, golf and just having a good time.
