Recently I found a wonderful organization in my area (Milwaukee, Wisconsin) that focuses on girls and women in sports. I was under the impression that there was nothing in this area for women in sports, but I was determined to find it. Google search after Google search left me empty handed until I finally stumbled upon Images Of Us (IOU) Sports. I was lucky enough to get a meeting with the cofounder and CEO, Bernell Hooker, where we discussed issues that I have had on my mind and Women Talk Sports has had all over their site.

Bernell gave me the opportunity to use the communication skills I polished at UW-La Crosse to speak with women who are in sports and are influential in the community of Wisconsin. My first assignment: Jackie Mattson Baumgart, a member of the All-American Girls Baseball League. She was one spunky gal! Take a peek at my interview with Jackie on IOU!
