The big event from last week was of course the NCAA Championships. In the team title, LSU won with Oregon coming up short yet again. I would recap NCAA for you but if you did not watch live (and see Ann Gaffigan being interviewed) or seen the results by now, you are in the small minority. Never fear, you can relive all the action here. Now let’s get to the rest of the action from this past week.
Harry Jerome International (video here)- With a little over a week until the Trials, plenty of athletes were still chasing that A-standard. In the 400 meters, Keshia Baker won in 51.52 over Carol Rodriguez and Leslie Cole. After an incredible 1500 meters at Pre last weekend, Alice Schmidt followed it up with a second place finish in the 800 meters with 1:59.86. Jessica Smith was first in 1:59.86. Melissa Bishop was third in 2:00.45. Nicole Sifunetes won the 1500 in 4:06.90. Gabe Anderson was barely off the A-standard again in 4:07.04. Brenda Martinez was third in 4:07.70.
