As of right now, we do not know who will be in the 100 meter hurdle finals. The semi-finals will take a few hours earlier. The favorite is Australia’s Sally Pearson. Pearson is the reigning world champion and holds the fastest performance in the event since 1992. Pearson appears to be back on her game since her defeat at London Diamond League by American’s Kellie Wells. Many have said she looks unbeatable.

Kellie Wells is part of a strong US team led by defending Olympic champion Dawn Harper. Harper has a season best’s of 12.65. Harper is in good form having won the US trials where Wells was runner-up followed by Lolo Jones. Jones is looking for redemption after her infamous fall at the last Olympics but she has only the 9th fastest US time this year and her season’s best stands at 12.74. All three could easily toe the line for the finals.

Jamaica’s Brigitte Foster-Hylton will be a contender. She ran a 12.51 to win the National Trials and is the second fastest in the world this year behind Pearson. Also look for British record holder Tiffany Porter and a strong Canadian team of  Nikkita Holder, Phylicia George and Jessica Zelinka. The final will be today at 3:00 and will be steaming live online at NBColympics.com.
