At the start of the year, Caroline Wozniacki debuted a ruffled dress from adidas by Stella McCartney, which received mixed reviews from tennis fans and fashion critics. For the final Grand Slam, the top ranked female player will don a very different design. This time around, it’s all about the pleats.
Wozniacki will take center court at the U.S. Open next month, in a “scuba-inspired” adidas by Stella McCartney tennis dress. In addition to the feminine cut and pleated skirt design, the dress also features CLIMALITE sweat protection which will help keep her comfortable and cool. It will be paired with the Tennis Woven Jacket below, meant to serve as a warm-up piece.
Here’s what Wozniacki had to say about her U.S. Open fashion: “My dress is more simple than some of the other dresses I’ve had. It’s really nice and has a clean cut. It doesn’t have too many ruffles. The material is fantastic to play in and I think it flatters my body.”
With the new collection, McCartney and adidas continue to succeed in producing sportswear that successfully marries both fashion and function. White and yellow are the dominant hues for the Autumn/Winter 2011 line, as evident in the pieces below. You can view the full collection here.
