The 2011-12 NFL regular season officially kicks-off tomorrow, with a Thursday night game between the Green Bay Packers and the New Orleans Saints. Fans have been gearing up for football, setting their fantasy teams, preparing for tailgates and updating their team wardrobes. For the second year, the league is recognizing is the female fan base, as research has shown that more than 45 million women watch NFL games each weekend. The NFL’s dedicated site for women – www.nfl.com/women - is now live, showcasing the newest crop of female fashions for this season.

After the success of last year’s “NFL Women’s Apparel: Fit For You” campaign, the NFL continues to market team clothing that is both sporty and stylish. The new collection includes fitted long-sleeve and short-sleeve tees in vintage, burn-out and traditional styles, classic hoodies and jerseys, and team-themed accessories such as jewelry, hats and handbags. To introduce the new gear, the site features a “Rivalry Fashion” theme. For each week of the season, a new NFL rivalry will be highlighted, including the story behind that rivalry, a Q&A; with the fans showcasing the looks of the week and a breakdown of all rivalry styles.
