The 2012 Olympic Games are nearly nine months away but fans and athletes alike are already anticipating the specially designed podium, performance, ceremony and casual wear for their country. Designers such as Polo Ralph Lauren, Stella McCartney, Giorgio Armani and Cedella Marley have already been tapped to create attire for the United States, England, Italy and Jamaica respectively. The Hudson’s Bay Company, the exclusive provider of non-competition clothing for Canada’s athletes, unveiled the London Olympic apparel that will outfit Team Canada at the upcoming games. The gear for the Opening Ceremonies remains under wraps, but fans can get a head start on showcasing their Canadian pride with a range of replica apparel.

The Canadian gear made quite a splash when the country played host for the Vancouver games. The new items aim to follow the success of that 2010 collection. Pieces are iconically Canadian, including influences like the symbolic Maple Leaf and prominently featured red and white hues. The collection is meant to represent the great outdoors and several items include specially created Olympic patches with images of the country’s landscape, animals and sports. Overall, the collection has a retro vibe, putting a modern spin on classics such as demin jackets, crew neck sweatshirts and track suits. Though it’s still very early in the Olympic fashion game, the Canadian team looks poised to snag a spot on that podium.

The gear is also extremely affordable, with prices range from $15 – $100. The official Olympic wear is now on sale in all locations of The Bay, Zellers, and online at www.thebay.com. As a tradition, The Hudson’s Bay Company utilized athletes to model some the new threads. Check it out:
