Serena Williams has been busy capturing gold medals at the London Games. With football season just around the corner, she’ll soon swap her red, white and blue tennis gear for team-themed NFL fashions. Williams, a limited partner in the Miami Dolphins and a fan of the sport, is among the women tapped to appear in the newest crop of NFL women’s apparel advertisements for this season.
“Forty-five percent of fans are female and that continues to grow,” says Tracey Bleczinski, vice president of NFL consumer products. “We do have something for everyone, and this campaign aims to communicate that if you are living and wearing football, you can do it every day, year-round.”
This year’s campaign, dubbed “It’s My Game,” will feature a range of famous female faces. Melania Trump, former Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice, Olympic swimmer, Summer Sanders, DJ Kiss and actress, Susie Castillo, are among the women who will star in the new spots in addition to Williams. Each will showcase their own personal style and the versatility of the female fan gear, complimenting the NFL team pieces with a range of high-end fashion and accessories. Serena paired her casual Dolphins graphic tee with a chic, black Nike jacket and matching pants. Her ads will debut in September magazines.
