Prior to the final tournament of the tennis season, the game’s top females traded in their tennis skirts in favor of high-end designs. The Top 8 women are in Turkey for the TEB BNP Paribas WTA Championships – Istanbul 2012. Before the competition began, they played dress-up for a fashion photo shoot. The players chose their own outfits, proving that their off-court styling varies just as much as their on-court style of play. Beauty company and WTA sponsor, Oriflame, held a style suite prior to the shoot, providing the finishing touches for each ladies’ look. For behind-the-scenes photos, visit here.
The “Elite Eight” posed for pictures at Ciragan Palace Kempinski. Making up the group are: Victoria Azarenka, Serena Williams, Li Na, Agnieszka Radwanska, Sara Errani, Petra Kvitova, Angelique Kerber and Maria Sharapova. Marion Bartoli serves as an alternate. Check out their looks below and for additional images, visit here:
Victoria Azarenka: Azarenka has quickly been climbing the tennis fashion ranks. Her on-court fashions are often edgy and bold and this off-court ensemble showcased that same sense of style. She paired a black, Alexander McQueen jumpsuit with black peep-toe booties. A sleek pony and a few statement accessories finished off her look.
Serena Williams: Serena showed off her physique in a body-hugging red dress, adding a bit of flair via the leopard pumps.
Li Na: Li Na’s outfit was simple and classic, just like her tennis fashions. She looked elegant in a long-sleeve little black dress and nude pumps.
Agnieszka Radwanska: Radwanska was pretty in pink in this ultra-feminine, Grecian-style gown.
Marion Bartoli: Sans the white fringe cape, Bartoli looked chic in a simple black dress and ankle booties.
Sara Errani: Errani’s purple gown was a great match with her skin tone and provided a flattering fit.
Petra Kvitova: Kvitova rocked a fiery, skin tight red dress just like Serena. But the edge goes to Williams for her animal-print footwear selection.
Angelique Kerber: Kerber’s glittering one-shoulder gown with thigh-high slit was easily the most glamorous of the group.
Maria Sharapova: The game’s best-dressed female rarely makes a fashion misstep. Though it’s much more casual than the rest of the women, the ruffled, belted white dress, camel blazer and Mary Janes made for a fun and flirty ensemble.
