TIME magazine has released more than 55 lists covering a wide-range of topics, all meant to ”survey the highs and lows, the good and the bad of the past 12 months.” Fashion and sports collide in a major way as this year’s “Top 10 Worst Dressed” group includes two sports-related stylings.

The #10 spot on the “Top 10 Worst Dressed” list belongs to “Amar’e Stoudemire’s Cut-Off Jean Jacket.” The New York Knicks forward has been an NBA style standout in recent years. He’s been known to take risks with his wardrobe choices but unfortunately this fashion risk did not pay off. The ensemble he wore during Game 5 of last season’s NBA Eastern Conference Finals was a memorable one, though not in a good way. When he was spotted courtside wearing black pants and a black tank, a denim vest, a black fedora and a large gold chain, many were quick to criticize. According to TIME, the outfit made him look like he was headed to “a hipster doofus biker rally.”

Despite the negative fashion feedback, Amar’e played stylist to SportNation’s Charissa Thompson, dressing her in the same look. Watch here and check out his outfit below:

Amar’es fashion faux pas wasn’t quite as bad as “Ralph Lauren’s U.S. Olympic Uniforms,” which landed at #1 on the “Top Ten Worst Dressed” list. The patriotic threads sparked national controversy when it was discovered that the clothing was actually manufactured in China. From fashion designers to politicians to sports fans, everyone expressed their outrage because the Olympic athletes would represent the U.S. wearing the “made in China” gear.

The fashion house apologized and the U.S. Olympic Committee ensured that the Ralph Lauren-designed uniforms for the opening and closing ceremonies at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games will be made in the United States. Too little too late. TIME dubs this the worst sartorial blunder of 2012.
