College sports fans are among the most loyal and passionate in all of sports. Miss Alabama 2013 contestant, Chandler Champion, is using fashion a forum to showcase her school pride. As part of her competition wardrobe, the University of Alabama student will done a Roll Tide-themed pageant dress. When describing her personal style, Champion told AI.com:
“I really like to be trendy, but I do like to march to the beat of my own drum,” she said. “I don’t go with exactly what the magazines are telling you or what different stores would promote every month, I go with what I like and I rock it.”
“I have a huge mixture of colors, everything from vibrant, to black, to red, you name it, I have the color,” she said. “It really does show different aspects of my personality.”
The custom parade outfit, designed by Ann Northington, includes a fitted black bodice with a full, black and white houndstooth bottom. The front of the dress features two panels that spell out “Roll Tide,” while the back is emblazoned with a “2012 National Champions Alabama” graphic.
Leaving no detail unturned, Champion will finish off her look with a pair of Alabama-themed pumps and a bracelet inspired by coach Nick Saban’s signature accessory. The black high heels have a houndstooth platform to match the dress, as well as a large Alabama script “A” on the heel. The bracelet includes a straw hat with a crimson band.
