Tennis players have made luxe jewelry a part of their on-court wardrobes. Rafael Nadal plays the game with a Richard Mille watch on his wrist. He won the 2013 U.S. Open while wearing a $690,000 timepiece from the brand. Maria Sharapova has previously partnered with Tiffany & Co., to don diamond designs during Grand Slam competition. It was recently announced that German tennis star and the #15 ranked female player, Sabine Lisicki, has teamed up with Thomas Sabo.
The German-based jewelry company offers a range of charms, necklaces, bracelets and watches, and will serve as the official sponsor for Lisicki. This is not Thomas Sabo’s first foray into the world of sports. The company also serves as the official sponsor and sector-exclusive jewelry partner for football club, FC Bayern Munich.
When discussing the new partnership with Lisicki, the company explained:
She will now be continuing this triumphant success from December 2013 with THOMAS SABO at her side. She associates her power, her self-confidence and her huge passion for the sport with the coveted lifestyle brand. THOMAS SABO is very much looking forward to its collaboration with the German tennis pro, along with many exciting tennis matches over the coming season.
Check out Lisicki’s promotional shots below. Among the featured jewelry designs are the Glam & Soul Pendant ”Locket heart” ($549) and the Glam & Soul Ring ($198).
