A Glam Slam covers the latest news and trends in fashion and sports, wherever the two worlds collide.

She changed the game of women’s tennis and now she’s revolutionizing nail polish. Is there anything Serena Williams can’t do?

A Glam Slam recently shared the news that the tennis ace and newly certified nail technician teamed up with OPI to create a special line of tennis-themed nail polish. The first hues of the collection, which is appropriately named “Glam Slam,” will officially launch in January 2011 just in time for the Australian Open. Additional shades will debut in conjunction with the other Grand Slam competitions; French Open (May), Wimbledon (June) and the US Open (August).

Luckily for beauty buffs and Serena fans, the first two polishes have already been revealed. They are “Simply Smashing,” a shimmery yellow-gold hue, and “Black Shatter," OPI’s first shatter polish. “Black Shatter” is a topcoat by OPI that claims to crackle when it dries, resulting in a leopard-print pattern. It's a perfect fit for Serena, who often sports fashion-forward nails to compliment her vibrant on-court attire.
