Apparently Nike fooled us all. In early December they had released photos of Oregon's BCS title game uniforms and the white-on-white look was not too well-received. As the visiting team, the Ducks would have to wear white jerseys but white pants too? Not only was the "flash factor" missing, but the team's iconic green and yellow hues were also missing.

But then this Nike ad surfaced the day before the championship game showing an altered look, including gray bottoms:

Ultimately, the Ducks took the field in Glendale, AZ looking like this:

Yes the 1980's/highlighter/glowstick neon socks were blinding and yes, the more traditional green and yellow team hues were still absent. But overall, the uniforms were pretty stunning. The dark gunmetal pants and helmets did a nice job of off-setting the jersey's neon piping and socks. For a closer look at Oregon's attire, check here.

The uniform, the 13th fashion combination for the Ducks this season, still received mixed reviews from college football fans. It was a huge topic of conversation on twitter, where the word of the night regarding Oregon's style was "sick." "Sick" as in "awesome," and "sick" as in "nauseating," due to the brightness of the team socks. The game pitted Nike and Under Armour against one another and Nike came out on top with regards to the fashion showdown.

Despite their uniforms, the Auburn Tigers were crowned champions of NCAA football with a 22-19 victory last night. Though the team is outfitted by Under Armour, their championship gear is ironically enough made by Nike, since the brand has the contract with the BCS.
