I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has been reading over the years. When I started this blog there was no women's sports blogsphere (yes, I still leave out the middle 'o' because I think it's cumbersome, and I'm not going to stop now), just a few isolated individuals. It has been marvelous to watch it grow and to see so many talented writers emerge. I have had a blast doing WSB and I like to think I've learned quite a bit since May 2007. For a long time now, I've tried to rediscover that passion, and seen it demonstrated most by the crop of new single-issue blogs that cover sports thoroughly and with great knowledge. With that in mind, WSB is finished for the foreseeable future. If you are interested in knowing about what new projects I am embarking on, drop me an email. I would particularly like to thank the wonderful friends who have shared memorable moments with me at soccer and softball games: The BC Fan and Envirogal, you are sorely missed in California. I would like to apologize to the Rocket Scientist, who told her her adorable baby son that when he grew up he would read my blog (the archives will still be here!). I know with parents like her and Pain Perdu he won't lack for women's sports role models. Pain Perdu, thanks for so many great post ideas. To my parents, thanks for instilling in me the love of people's stories that is really at the heart of my sports fandom. And again, to everyone who has read, commented, critiqued, and celebrated with me over the years: go team.
