Summarizes major developments in NCAA Division I women's softball, with a focus on the Big 10, Big 12, Pac 10, and SEC. My frequency of posting accelerates as the season progresses, from primarily on weekends during the season to live-blogging during the post-season as I watch games on TV.

Most of the seeded teams are doing well, but one has lost and two four others have squeaked by...

No. 4 Georgia has fallen to NC State, 5-4.

No. 6 Louisiana-Lafayette needed a pair of runs in the bottom of the seventh to edge Texas, 3-2.

No. 7 Oklahoma put across three in the bottom of the seventh to escape against Texas A&M, 9-8.

No. 8 Florida State took 11 innings to put away South Florida, 2-0.

No. 11 Arizona also won 9-8, as LSU's three-run rally in the top of the seventh came up just short.

No. 12 Washington, whose regional began a day earlier than the others, has advanced to the super-regionals via three straight run-rule shutouts.
