Summarizes major developments in NCAA Division I women's softball, with a focus on the Big 10, Big 12, Pac 10, and SEC. My frequency of posting accelerates as the season progresses, from primarily on weekends during the season to live-blogging during the post-season as I watch games on TV.

As seen in the chart below, we're down to four teams. Florida and Baylor (both in red) have been paired up for the day, as have Alabama and Oregon (both in green).

Florida currently leads Baylor 6-3 after five-and-one-half innings (and it could have been worse, as the Gators had the bases loaded with two outs, but didn't pad their lead). Should Florida hold on, the loss would be Baylor's second and the Bears would be eliminated. Florida would go straight to the two-out-of-three championship series, beginning tomorrow night... No more magic from Baylor, as the 6-3 score holds up.
