WNBABall.jpgI was personally asked to submit my picks for the top 15 players in all-time WNBA history. Here's who I selected, the biggest trouble being Los Angeles star Candace Parker.

Sure, she's an incredible player. Parker won the 2008 Rookie and MVP titles, a first for the league. But since then she's missed play due to birth of her first child and multiple injuries. Currently she's out rehabilitating a surgically repaired knee.

But since the league opened up the criteria to on and off-court contributions, Parker was my final vote. She's made a definite impact in getting more people to pay attention to the WNBA and has crossed over to different media. That's important for the future of the WNBA. Plus, in the clump of names left on the table, she does have the brightest future. Although, I did want to vote for Phoenix All-Star Penny Taylor, who's at least won a championship.

So, here's to Parker living up to the honor when she's surely named along with the rest of the team at the July 23 All-Star game in San Antonio, airing on ABC (12:30 PT).

My Top 15 (in alphabetical order):

Sue Bird
Swin Cash
Tamika Catchings
Cynthia Cooper
Cheryl Ford
Yolanda Griffith
Lauren Jackson
Lisa Leslie
Tina Thompson
Diana Taurasi
Sheryl Swoopes
Katie Smith
Cappie Pondexter
Ticha Penicheiro
Candace Parker
