Washington had a chance to make the Pac-12's weekend really eventful. Instead UW was outscored 27-9 in the final nine minutes of a 85-68 loss to No. 14 UCLA on Sunday. Sophomore PG Jazmine Davis had 19 points for the Huskies and redshirt sophomore F Talia Walton added 18 with two blocks.

"Usually when we start games and we know it's a great team we want to start with (a high level) of intensity (on defense) and force those turnovers," Davis told reporters afterward. The Huskies forced 16 turnovers in the opening half to lead 34-33 at halftime.

"But then toward the second half we just lost that intensity," Davis continued. "I lost it, everybody lost it in my opinion, and it was too late to regain it back. They just played off of that and killed us with it."

Jasmine Dixon had a season-high-tying 13 points and 11 rebounds for the Bruins (13-2, 4-0 Pac-12). F Atonye Nyingifa had 17 points.

UCLA is tied with Southern California atop the conference standings after No. 7 Cal upset No. 5 Stanford 67-55 at Maples Pavilion. The loss snapped the Cardinal's 81-game win streak against Pac-12 opponents - the second massive record to fall for Stanford (14-2, 3-1) this season. No. 3 UConn defeated Stanford 61-35 to end the Card's overall 82-game win streak at home.

"I want them to enjoy it. This team hasn't kind of had that celebration moment," second-year Cal coach Lindsay Gottlieb told reporters after the game. "I think it does put us maybe in a different class where now we have beaten a team that's ranked above us. That's a big step. These players always knew that we could win and always play like we can win, but to actually do it, I hope gives us a boost of confidence that will be good for us going forward."

Cal (13-2, 2-1) was the last team to defeat Standford, accomplishing the feat in January 2009 at Haas Pavilion. But the Bears have never won a Pac-12 title.

Washington (10-5, 2-2) returns home to host rival Washington State on Tuesday at Alaska Airlines Arena. Tip-off is at 6pm and the matchup will be aired on Pac-12 Networks.

The Cougs (5-10, 1-3) were also swept by the Los Angeles schools this weekend. USC  (7-8, 4-0) beat WSU 61-59 on Sunday, making a controversial two FTs with eight-tenths of a second remaining in the game to win.

In other Pac-12 games: No. 23 Colorado (13-2, 2-2) swept budding rival Utah (9-6, 0-4), playing twice last week. The Buffs won 56-43 on Sunday. Arizona (10-5, 2-2) defeated Oregon 100-68 while Arizona State (10-6, 2-2) handled Oregon State 66-55 on Sunday. The Ducks (2-14, 0-4) also have rivalry week, next playing OSU (7-9, 1-3) twice.

Red Hot: Yes, the Western Athletic Conference isn't the toughest in the NCAA. But a win is a win for Seattle U. The Redhawks defeated Denver 69-66 on Sunday. SU remains the sole undefeated in the WAC (8-6, 5-0). Denver drops to 8-9, 3-3.

"We really struggled early, maybe it was the travel or the altitude, but Denver was really hitting shots and we were getting outrebounded," SU coach Joan Bonvicini told reporters. "I thought after halftime, we really established more of an inside game because they were doubling and tripling Kacie Sowell. I thought Ashley Ward had a huge game and Sylvia Shephard hit some excellent threes. Daidra Brown, when she starts scoring, it just opens things up. Right now our team is just playing with confidence; when a game is close, we just believe we’re going to pull it out.”

Shephard had a team-leading 21 points and nine rebounds. Ward had 15 points.

SU returns to host UT Arlington (3-12, 1-4) on Thursday and Louisiana Tech (7-8, 3-2) on Saturday at Connolly Center.
