Washington (1-1) landed in Anchorage for the Great Alaska Shootout, but could be without three key players to the lineup when it faces Kent State (2-0) on Tuesday. PG Sarah Morton's sprained ankle has been well chronicled. But teammate Regina Rogers was unable to play in the 80-55 loss to BYU on Saturday due to a pulled hamstring and F Mollie Williams sprained her ankle in the game.
Williams suffered her injury in the opening half and returned to finish with 12 points and seven rebounds in 20 minutes of play. But there's question whether she'll be healthy for Tuesday along with her teammates.
Rogers, however, has been dealing with her hamstring since the beginning of the season. The 6-foot-3 center could play. Morton, who traveled with her team to Alaska, previously stated she'd like to play against Kent State.
I'll have more when the team is available for interviews.
UW's participation in the Shootout nixed the program hosting its traditional Husky Classic for the first time since 1990.
