Girls have been skating for a long time. For nine years they have been skating in Summer X Games. This year the girls are still there, along with two moto events. But the ladies are wanting more. So gro gathered girl skaters of all ages to represent girls day and girl riders across every inch of the event.

Out in the interactive parks, girls were learning to ride with the girls of GRO, Silly Girl Skateboards, X Games Athletes and more.

Other girls participated in demos and contests on the mini ramp, like Abby Zsarnay shown here. Not only do they skate, but they give back through patience in teaching the future riders.

All the gro volunteers headed up to help fill the stands for the Women’s Street Contest, but there were still too many seats. All those petition signings are a start, but fans must also take the time to fill the stands and be there in person to cheer on the ladies. The more packed the stands, the greater chance for future events!

Everything with girls day activities are run entirely by volunteers with the support of X Games and ESPN. Thank you to all the teachers, volunteers, girls that came to X and all the parents behind the riders. It is the people that mark the growth and success of an idea.

Marisa won the skateboard street.

And that’s not all….
