A chronicle of a sports reporter who ditched the sideline to discover her own power and strength by taking up endurance sports in her 30's.

Today is a day to be inspired, to breathe deep and experience the energy of the day. The Boston Marathon is simultaneously about tradition and breaking barriers. It is about both personal journey and a communal celebration.

Today I am a spectator. It is a difficult role in its own unique way. Part of me will miss being part of the race, even though qualifying for the most prestigious marathon in the world is out of my league. But my wise self knows that today is another example of how I have the opportunity to create my own story. Each day I get to create the kind of life I want.

Hello possibility. It’s time to play.
