softball gloveTaking care of your softball glove is important for a number of reasons. First of all, it will probably catch and/or stop more balls for you if it's properly cared for. Second, it's expensive to keep buying new gloves simply because you didn't take care of the one you had. Third it simply shows respect, honor, and pride for the game, your equipment and in what you do.

With that said, here are 5 Tips for Keeping your Softball Glove Alive!

1. Do NOT sit on it - this is an absolute no-no! Do not sit or let anyone else sit on your glove.

2. Keep a ball in it when you're not using it - this helps keep your glove from getting smashed into undesirable form while in your bag, in your car, or anywhere else you may put it when you're not using it.

3. Don't throw it or toss it down (especially on dirt or concrete) - another absolute no-no!

4. Clean it - a little saddle soap and water on a cloth/towel works great.

5. When setting your glove down on the ground, place it pocket down (as shown in the picture above).
