This is Pretty Smart!

Are you coffee lover who loves to ski or snowboard?

Tahoe’s Squaw Valley recently opened the world’s first ski-in/ski-out Starbucks location. The new mountaintop service (elevation 8,000 ft) includes panoramic views and the unique ability for guests to keep their skis or board on while they order their latte.

“We worked closely with the design team at Starbucks to create a one-of-a-kind experience that we know our guests will truly enjoy,” said Andy Wirth, Squaw Valley’s president and CEO. “Nowhere else in the world can skiers and riders enjoy a delicious Starbucks coffee without missing a beat on the slopes.”

One comment I saw called out Squaw Valley for not keeping Tahoe local by having a local coffee company on the upper mountain. Another girl interviewed for the video was excited about the prospect of an espresso shotski. It’s all a bit of a novelty but for Starbucks fans, Squaw Valley Resort is now a much happier place to be.

The mountaintop Starbucks is located at the Gold Coast mid-mountain complex and can be accessed by the resort’s Funitel with or without ski or snowboard equipment. This store will be open daily from 9 a.m to 4 p.m throughout the winter season, weather permitting. This brings a whole new meaning to iced coffee.
