Just days after Sanya Richards-Ross won the Olympic gold medal in the women’s 400-meter race, WE tv announces it has picked up a pilot of a reality show based on her life training for the Olympics and her relationship with NFL-playing husband Aaron Ross and the rest of her family.
Richards-Ross, who also earned two gold relay medals in 2004 and 2008 as well as an individual bronze in the Beijing Olympics, is married to two-time Super Bowl champion Ross who just signed a 3-year $15 million contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars. The reality series reveals the often intense rivalry between the hyper competitive couple. (Ross was in the stands on Sunday cheering on his wife with her parents when she won the Olympic gold.)
The TV project also provides a behind-the-scenes look at Richard-Ross’ inner circle that includes her mother Sharon acting as her agent, her father Archie working as her manager and her sister Shari as her business partner. Sanya and Aaron are not strangers to WE — their nuptials were featured on the channel’s show Platinum Weddings.
Richards Ross (@SanyaRichiRoss) is a prolific tweeter and a vocal advocate of athlete’s rights. Both she and her hubby are colorful personalities and super-athlete couples such as this tend to have an interesting dynamic. Does this reality show grab your interest?
