The final day of group play was played in both the Algarve Cup and Cyrpus Cup on March 7 and placements matches were set. The USA and Iceland will play for the title on March 9 at 12 pm ET.
In Group A, Norway defeated Japan with a score of 1-0, while the US dominated Finland and winning 4-0. Shannon Boxx, Carli Lloyd each scored a goal before Alex Morgan scored 2 for the US. The US finished on top with 9 points, Japan in 2nd with 6 points, Norway in 3rd with 3 points and Finland in last place with 0 points.
In Group B, China and Sweden played to a 0-0 draw, and Iceland defeated Denmark 1-0. Iceland won Group B with 9 points, Sweden finished 3nd with 6 points, Denmark finished 3rd with 3 points and China was last with 0 points.
In Group C, Wales defeated Chile 2-1, and Portugal and Romania scored one goal each in the last group matches. Wales finished first in the group with 6 points, Portugal just behind with 5 points, Romania finished 3rd with 4 points, and Chile finished last with 0 points.
All placement matches will be played on March 9.
11th Place: Romania vs Chile – 5:30am ET
9th Place: Finland vs Portugal – 6 am ET
7th Place: China vs Wales – 6 am ET
5th Place: Norway vs Denmark – 6 am ET
3rd Place: Japan vs Sweden – 8:30 am ET
1st Place: USA vs Finland – 12 pm ET
In the Cyprus Cup, Canada won Group A with 9 points after defeating England 2-0. Scotland and Italy played to a scoreless draw. Scotland finished 2nd with 4 points, England finished 3rd with 3 points, Italy finished 4th with 1 point.
In Group B, Holland defeated Switzerland 6-0, and New Zealand lost to France 2-5. Holland won the group with 9 points, France finished in 2nd with 7 points, New Zealand finished 3rd with 3 points, and Switzerland finished last with no points.
In Group C Mexico defeated Northern Ireland 3-1, and Russia lost to South Korea 2-1. South Korea won the group with 7 points, Mexico finished 2nd with 5 points, Russia finished 3rd with 4 points, and Northern Ireland finished 4th with no points.
Canada and Holland will face off for the title on Wednesday.
