Jessie Banks

Jessie Banks is a retired women's basketball coach we had the pleasure of meeting at the WBCA Convention earlier this month in Indianapolis. She's a charter member of the WBCA and her love of the game is still evident after all this time.

A coach for 16 years at Colorado State University-Pueblo (beginning in 1966), Banks also competed on the first women's professional basketball team,All American Red Heads. She's dribbled the basketball in every state but Hawaii and was instrumental in setting up the collegiate athletic divisions that exist today.

Banks attended the very first Women's Final Four and every one since (with the exception of two). She is a trailblazer and true jewel in the treasure chest of women's basketball history.

Thanks for taking the time to talk with us, Jessie!
