A bit on the short side tonight.

  • Not sure how I missed this one last night:

  • And here’s video of the USWNT’s last days training in Austria:

  • The USWNT touched down in Dresden Thursday. Here’s video of their arrival. (Here’s a link to the vid if it doesn’t load.)

  • espnW’s Joanne Gerstner offers five things to watch in this World Cup.

  • The Montreal Gazette writes how Canada will be entering the World Cup with high expectations – perhaps for the first time ever.

  • The CBC asks Christine Sinclair 10 questions. Silliness herein.

  • The BBC has a brief video interview with Hope Powell. In it she reveals that this is the best England squad ever to take part in a Women’s World Cup.

  • April Heinrichs and Jill Ellis were asked to take charge of the U.S. Youth National Team set-up in January. The NSCAA has an update of the progress the pair has made in the past six months.

  • Sweden drew 1-1 with Japan in a closed door friendly on Thursday. Therese Sjögran scored for Sweden. @DandalBS provides more details in this tweet and be sure to follow him throughout the tournament for the best insight regarding the Sweden Women’s National Team.

  • WNY Flash head coach Aaran Lines apparently has eyes on Swedish forward Josefine Öqvist.

And as always, check out a free preview of The Equalizer and All White Kit’s Complete Guide to the 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup preview here and then download the full 82-page PDF for $5.95 here. Technical questions, comments, etc. should be sent to [email protected]. See ya!
