Well, well, well, who do we have here — it’s the Boston Breakers back from the dead. It’s strange to think just how bad this team was a short while ago. Nothing was going right, it seemed. The team had been winless in nine and had only managed to score five goals during that time. And then a few of its players flew down to Atlanta in early July and - shazam – third place!

To be fair, if there is ever a time for a team to suck it’s at the front-end of the season (just ask Washington Freedom fans). July has been exceedingly kind to the Breakers as the team has lost just once and has picked up maximum points otherwise. And every game this month has seen the Breakers tally multiple goals. In July alone, Kelly Smith has nearly equaled the amount of goals the entire team had scored from April to July. Jordan Angeli and Lauren Cheney are seriously producing.

And it’s not just the players that makes Boston such a special organization. The Breakers fanbase seems to be immensely invested in this club, win or lose. It’s no wonder the team continues to have the best attendance in the league. Despite the cavernous qualities of Harvard Stadium, there’s actually an atmosphere at Breakers games and it broadcasts well on television. The Breakers can also boast about having real beat writers, and several of them. There’s real interest in Boston and it shows.

The Boston Breakers; a stand-up organization with a record than can match it.
