I’ve added an extra thing to look at in this version of the poll, the best uRPI ranked team a team has beaten in 2010. The question of the day is, “Who hasn’t beaten a Top 50 uRPI team?”. Seven teams in the latest ranking in fact. The Unlucky 7, sorted by best uRPI ranked team beaten:

77 – Georgia
66 – Denver
66 – Hofstra
66 – Toledo
62 – Siena
60 – DePaul
54 – Duke

It shouldn’t be a shocker that six of the seven are squarely in bubble territory as we enter the last few weeks of the regular season. Hofstra is going to be a very interesting case. They’ve been bludgeoning a lot of bad teams, but this shows that they really don’t want to give the committee an excuse to leave them out in the end if they don’t win the CAA.

26-55 and musings after the jump.

Musings:

-Florida probably aren’t a legit Top 10 at this point but get the nod on head-to-head on FSU.

-Am I ever going to rate Texas A&M; as high the pollsters?

-Meanwhile, excuse me as I bash my head in against my desk as I try to understand how Minnesota and Illinois are Top 20 teams in the pollsters’ eyes yet Wisconsin struggles for votes.

-Oh, and pollsters? Virginia Tech beats Maryland and Boston College yet doesn’t get in the Top 25?

-Boston College loses three in a row and is still a Top 9 team? What?

-Still not really buying into Santa Clara. Top 15 teams generally should be beating more than three uRPI Top 100 teams.

-Wake Forest: ACC co-leaders. Wake Forest: not ranked in Soccer America and not in the Top 25 in NSCAA.

-I’m struggling with Ohio State. Edging very close to forgiving their head-to-head loss with Arizona State but still need a little more evidence.

-I don’t understand Georgia’s Top 25 ranking. I just don’t. There’s no mathematical evidence that can back that ranking up.
