Hi, and a very warm welcome back to my last blog before the real deal is finally here. After nearly six weeks in Cheesesteak residency, our first game awaits us this Sunday. We are all so excited and we cannot wait. We have had a great preseason and we are 110% ready for Sunday’s game against New Jersey’s Sky Blue FC. I am getting excited even thinking about it. It’s hard to believe our last competitive game (the WPS championship) was nearly 6 months ago. It’s gone so quick and so much has happened since then.

There have been teams that have folded, expansion teams, free agents, protected players, you name it. But now everyone is with their new or old teams and are comfortably settled in. You wouldn’t even be able to tell the difference between our new and old players. Everyone has settled in so nicely on and Off the field.

We have so much chemistry off the field I think you can see that when we play, we really are like one big family .Staff, coaches, players and fans.

Talking of family my dad arrives in around a week for our home opener and we cannot wait. My dad is like one of my best friends. I love having with him here.

It was my Mum’s birthday a few days ago as well as Mother’s Day in England. So I want to wish my mum a Happy Birthday again. I miss all of my family and friends in England, you know who you are and there I wish I could write everyone but you know who you are.

I am currently writing this whilst watching the Champions :eague highlights and I have to make a special mention as Stankovic of Inter Milan just scored arguably one of the best goals witnessed in a long time, so if you get a chance check it out on YouTube.I love watching soccer and that’s what we do most days. Practice, ice bath, and watch soccer and we love it. I feel it is such a great way to learn. Growing up I was lucky enough to see all my favorite players live and in person. I feel this is a necessary tool in learning.

I would watch Eric Cantona, David Beckham, Paolo DiCanio, Ruud Van Nistelrooy. It was definitely something I would say helped me a lot so I would definitely say to people wanting to improvethat watching great players is something that will definitely help.

Players I like to watch now especially are Luka Modric who plays for Tottenham and I would say is my favorite player in the Premier League. I also enjoy watching Chicharito for Manchester United. His eye for goal is so great ,and his movement is amazing. I think it’s important to pick players you think are most like you as for myself Messi and Ronaldo are my favorites but I am a different kind of player to them if that makes sense. That’s not saying I am comparing myself to them. I just think you have to know what kind of player you are.

Talking of Messi!!! We were lucky enough to be able to go to watch USA vs Argentina last week at the new Giants Stadium. It was so amazing to see Messi, Di Maria, and Zanetti all play live. You appreciate just how good players are when you see them live. The movement, passing of the ball, everything. Messi is a genius. But all around Argentina where amazing and I would say as well as everyone else in the stadium 1-1 was not a fair result. Argentina dominated the whole game. It was a pleasure to watch.

One last thing I would like to bring to your attention is a foundation called ANDERSON MONARCHS who are based in Philadelphia, and help give underprivileged kids an opportunity in life.

We have 2 DAYS until our season opener against Sky Blue. It is live on FOX SOCCER CHANNEL or the WPS website 6pm kick off America or 11pm UK online. I hope most of you will be able to watch and get behind the Cheesesteaks. I cannot wait and I am raring to go.
