Jordan Angeli sustained a knee injury in the game and per the Breakers’ Twitter, the midfielder will be evaluated when she returns to Boston. A long-term injury could prove to be a real blow to the Breakers, particularly when considering the team’s summer stretch.

• In UEFA Women’s Champions League semifinals action, Lotta Schelin nearly ensured Lyon’s return to the final as she scored a brace to secure a 2-0 victory over Arsenal. Lara Dickenmann was instrumental in her team’s success, creating both goals. 20,123 spectators took in the match – a UEFA Women’s Champions League record for a non-final match.

• The other all-German semifinal match-up featured four first-half goals as home side Duisburg drew 2-2 with defending champions Turbine Potsdam. The second half offered far less clinical finishing as neither side took the chance to add another goal.

• As Chris Henderson noted, ex-Independence member Lyndsay Patterson has joined the Atlanta Beat.

• The Western New York Flash (formerly the Buffalo Flash obviously) have renewed their shirt sponsorship deal with Mazda this season.

• Georgina Turner discusses England’s historic victory over the U.S. on SI.com.

• Never mind Dan Borislow the owner of the WPS team, magicJack consumers don’t seem to be too thrilled with the guy either. The Trump/USFL line is a bit concerning.

• The Boston Aztec Breakers Reserve have named Ebbie Kodiat head coach of the defending WPSL team. The former assistant will be taking the place of 2010 WPSL Coach of the Year Mike Kersker.
