We have yet to hear from Gina Carano on when she will be back in the cage, but it looks like her Hollywood career maybe taking off.
This week, an official trailer for her major motion picture debut was shown for the first time at Comic-Con. “Haywire” has a star studded cast includes Michael Douglas, Antonio Banderas, and Ewan McGregor. Carano, her co-star Channing Tatum, and director Steven Soderburgh did a panel on the upcoming movie, which will be released in theaters Jan. 20, 2012.
Carano called the experience “crazy, adrenaline rush”, and stated that she enjoyed shooting the action scenes. She explained that fighting was different for each “opponent” in the movie, fighting in different environments. (Carano used fighting with McGregor in sand as an example. She stated it was hard to get footing in sand.) She said that “she loved getting banged into a wall by Fassbender” in her fight scene with him, which got a laugh from the audience.
Carano expressed her love of the craft, and appreciation for Soderburgh’s acting training during the filming.
