Wombat sports is dedicated to women in combat sports. Former news editor of “Fightergirls” MarQ Piocos has been covering Women’s MMA for over three years, having picked up coverage of wrestling, boxing, and grappling. It is his vision to bring some of the best coverage to help bring and promote the ever expanding popularity of women’s MMA, wrestling, and martial arts with some of the best writers and athletes.

Blackeye Promotions has released their full MMA card for Oct. 1 in Fletcher, NC at the WNC AG Center.
The main event will feature #7 Unified ranked 135 pounder Roxanne Modafferi facing #9 Unified ranked 125 pounder Barb Honchak.
Besides the six other pro female matches; 4 male pro, and 8 amateur matches are also on the card. It includes undefeated amateur fighter Vincent Alberico will make his pro debut against Sky Rudloe.
Marloes Coenen
In addition, special guests in attendance will include former Strikeforce champion Marloes Coenen; former Strikeforce fighter Elaina Maxwell; and fighting twins Jocelyn and Jillian Lybarger. All four have recently signed to Blackeye. Also making appearances is Bellator fighter Jessica Aguilar and Strikeforce’s D’Alelio. All will be available for autographs at a meet and greet during the weekend.
The proceeds from ticket sales, live stream pay-per- view and merchandise sales will be donated to the charitable organization It Ain´t Chemo™, a Las Vegas based organization that directly supplies cancer patients from across the United States with comfort items, advice and emotional support.
Also Blackeye Promotions will be honoring Mighty Mia Hayes-Camara as our WMMA Ambassador of the Blackeye 5 Breast Cancer Beatdown.
“Breast Cancer Beatdown” will emanate from WNC AG Center in Fletcher, NC, just south of Ashville Oct. 1. The Gates open at 6:00pm and Fights start at 7:00pm.
