A press conference last night in Japan has announced a Dream MMA card for New Years Eve, with a few surprising announcements.
The “Dream Genki Desuka 2011” card will be emanate from Saitama Super Arena in Japan, and will be promoted by IGF. The producer of the event will be pro-wrestling promoter and legend Antonio Inoki, who has produced MMA events in the past. (They stated that there would be no pro-wrestling on the card at all.)
With IGF at the helm, it gave them more options, including adding women’s matches on the card. This will be the first time female fights will be on a Dream event.
The card will have both men and women competing in MMA and kickboxing, with 20 matches on the docket. There wasn’t an announcement on who would be on the card or if the fights will air on HDNet in the states like they have in the past.
Stay tuned to Wombat Sports for more on this event in upcoming weeks.
