As Strikeforce’s Ronda Rousey prepares for her match with #6 Unified ranked 145er Julia Budd Friday night on Showtime, she talked to MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani to hype the fight; and give a warning to 135 pound champ Miesha Tate.

After Tate tweeted a response to a fan that she could beat Rousey, the #9 ranked 145 pounder stated that she would be considering “slapping that title out of Miesha Tate’s hands”. Tate responded that it wasn’t mad about the statement, but was a little offended.

Rousey told us on the Wombat Sports several months ago that her goal is to win both the 145 and 135 pound titles. She also told us that she doesn’t cut much weight at all.

Before facing 145 pound champ Cyborg Santos, she wants a few more fight under her belt and would consider doing a few matches at 135 pounds to gain some more experience.

Even though Tate versus Rousey is a very marketable fight, she does have to wait in line. #3 ranked Sarah Kaufman is awaiting her shot at the belt, and #4 ranked Alexis Davis is looking to face the winner of that.

Rusey faces Budd live on Showtime Friday night.
