I Tap Boys! sponsored fighter Liz Tracy returns to the cage to face Liz McCarthy for the latter's 115-pound women's title on Saturday, January 21st, 2012. The event, Rumble at the Roseland 61, is promoted by the Full Contact Fighting Federation, and tickets are available at thefcff.com. UFC star Chael Sonnen will be in attendance at the show.

We are proud to present the following exclusive interview with Liz as she does final preparations for her title fight!

I Tap Boys: Coming off your last win, what are your goals for this fight?

Liz: Goals for this next fight are to not give my opponent anything. I felt my last fight was not a good representation of my talent and skills, having trained so hard. So this fight I would like to keep my head in the game and stay relaxed, being conscious of my surroundings and my opponent.

I Tap Boys: Have you been training any differently?

Liz: Yes, I have been training VERY differently. After the last fight my coach and I both saw areas of my game that needed to be updated and worked on. So we have been doing the best that we can to smooth out rough edges as well as bring in a new element to my fighting style, which will be very apparent in the next fight. I have been working with Duc at Knotts Street Boxing Club, working on my stand up.

I Tap Boys: What are your thoughts on your opponent?

Liz: I have no real thoughts on my opponent. I know she's great with her stand-up and she's a very experienced fighter. But I also know that she turned me down and backed out of the first fight we where supposed to have. That fight was expected to be my debut and she backed out two weeks before the fight. This just adds more fuel to a fire the already burns hotter than the sun.

I Tap Boys: How is the weight cut going?

Liz: The weight cut is going well. I've been working hard with Team Viggity and we have worked out a solid plan that will lead me to success.

I Tap Boys: Is this a weight that you would like to continue to fight at?

Liz: Yes, 115 is a good weight for me. I feel very strong at 115. It just means I will need to change my lifestyle and eating habits to allow me to walk around at 120 instead of 130.
