Hitomi Akano Sara McMann

What a way to begin a year in women’s MMA to have an Olympic Silver Medalist and one of the top fighters out of Japan duke it out in Hawaii.

The undefeated #9 Unified ranked bantamweight Sara McMann (4-0) faces Strikeforce veteran #5 Unified ranked Hitomi Akanao (18-8) at ProElite III this Saturday in Honolulu, which will air live on HDNet.

McMann, an Olympic Silver medlaist in wrestling, will be taking a step up in competition against a game Akano, who has seven years experience and the legendary Megumi Fujii in her corner.
