Amanda Lucas proved she is a force to be recommend with in MMA.

Lucas faced her toughest challenge to date against one of the pioneers of women in fighting, Yumiko Hotta, at DEEP this past weekend for the first ever women’s openweight title. After dominating the ground for most of the fight, Lucas as able to get a keylock to secure the victory in the third round, and to win her first ever MMA title.

After the match, Lucas told Sports Illustrated MMA reporter Loretta Hunt that she has been offered  several fights from bigger and smaller promotions in the U.S., but will weigh her options when she returned to the States. She is currently in Thailand doing some Muay Thai training before heading back home.

Her debut at 145 pounds will hopefully happen in May or June in the U.S.
