Aguilar and Fujii
Although a 125 pounds division tournament is yet to be announced, Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney has been hinting on twitter that female fighting with return to the company in the spring season.
Besides the upcoming match between #10 Unified ranked Marianna Kheyfets and Munah Holland March 30, two more matches are in the works. On twitter this past weekend, Rebney tweeted congratulations two of his Bellator fighters.
After #2 ranked 115 pounder Jessica Aguilar won her match Friday night over Patricia Vidonic at the “Fight Night 8″ card in Miami, FL, Rebney confirmed his plans to have Aguilar and the #1 Unified ranked Megumi Fujii fight in the very near future.
The second tweet came after #9 Unified ranked Jessica Eye defeated Kelly Warren at the NAAFS event Saturday night. Rebney again extended his congratulations and told Eye “to have Apr. 20 open”. No opponent has been announced.
With Bellator starting Mar. 9, there are plenty of opportunities for women to fight; especially to develop their ever growing super-flyweight division.
