Women have seen warriors for millenia, but only in the past century have they have started to be seen as equals. The military has opened their ranks to allow “the fairer sex” to show all they can be as a soldier.

This extends to combat sports like MMA, where this past week, a female fighter fought a male fighter at an Army MMA tournament final. Army Staff Sgt. Jackelyn Walker  faced Pfc. Greg Langarica in the finals of an Army MMA tournament Mar. 14 in Ft. Hood, TX.

300 men took part with 25 women thrown in the mix with only Staff Sgt. Walker making the finals. The women are given a 10 pound weight advantage over their male counterparts.

You can watch the final match below (thanks to Pegson MMA for finding this)
