CSAC Upholds Cyborg Santos’s Suspension; But Cyborg Still with Strikeforce

It looks like January for Strikeforce’s Cris "Cyborg" Santos to return to the cage.
On Monday, the California State Athletic Commission denied unanimously a request by the former featherweight champ to shorten her sentence to six months. Instead, Cyborg will get the full 12 months and will still have to pay the $2,500 fine.
I want to thank all my fans, friends, coaches, Legal Counsel, sponsors, who are with me,” Cyborg expressed in a statement on her Facebook page. “Unfortunately we could not reduce my penalty. I’m sad … But after a storm in the morning see the sun shine. Nothing like a day after another day .. Soon will come back better than ever I promise. Thank my God always keep praising You.”
The silver lining seems that Cyborg is still with Strikeforce. She was hoping to get on the upcoming Strikeforce card in July, but it looks like it won’t be until Strikeforce’s January card she will be elidgible to fight. She can re-apply for her licence at the Dec. 16 hearing.
