MMA: Jessica Philippus Out of Invicta; Cassie Rodish to Fill in

Cassie Rodish

Jessica Philippus’s pro debut is going to have to wait.

Philippus announced Wednesday night that she will be unable to compete in the Invicta 1 event due to health issues dealing with her weight. Rather than try to make the cut and miss weight, she decided to step aside.

In her place, Cassie Rodish (1-3) will take on Meghan Wright in the card opener. Iowa’s Rodish is coming off her first pro win Mariah Johnson this past September.

InvictaFC 1 will stream live and free Apr. 28 on InvictaFC.com
