Coming off an injury in 2011, Miriam Nakamoto didn’t look like she lost a step.

Nakamoto defeated Sandra Bastian by TKO in the third round for the vacant WBC Kickbxoing title at Legends Muay Thai in San Francisco Saturday. The ringside doctors stopped the fight due to a cut.

Nakamoto is one of the top female kickboxers in the sport and was hoping to be a part of the Muay Thai Premire League last year until an injury sidelined her. She is the first American Fighter to win a WMC World Title and the only American Fighter to ever hold the WBC and WMC World Titles.

The win sets up a long awaited match with another top fighter, Julie Kitchen Aug. 18 in Palo Alto, CA.
