InvictaFC 4 Officially Announced; Adds Five More Bouts

Wombat sports is dedicated to women in combat sports. Former news editor of “Fightergirls” MarQ Piocos has been covering Women’s MMA for over three years, having picked up coverage of wrestling, boxing, and grappling. After weeks of speculation, InvictaFC announced their forth card coming to Kansas City, KS January 5. 12 fights will be on the card, including the previously reported strawweight title match between #4 Unified ranked Carla Esparza and  Claudia Gadelha.

In addition to the other fights we reported the past few weeks (including the rematch between Alexis Davis and Shayna Baszler); five more bouts have been added according to the press release.

  • #8 ranked Amanda Nunes will take on #9 ranked Sarah D’Alelio  in a bantamweight battle. Nunes is (7-2) is coming off a win at InvictaFC 2 with a first round submission win. She is looking to climb baack into title contention. D’Alelio is coming off a loss to Shayna Baszler.
  • KO specialist Veronica Rothenhausler will be making her pro debut against Katalina Malungahu (2-1) in a featherweight contest. Rothenhausler has made news this past year, as she racked up two 5 second KOs in a row in the ammateur ranks. Malunhahu is coming off her first professional loss at InvictaFC 3.
  • Stephanie Frausto is looking to continue her run at atomweight as she will take on Cassie Rodish. Frausto has defeat two ranked 105ers in her past two matches, including a first round submission win at InvictaFC 3. Rodish is on a three fight win streak and is looking to earn her way into the rankings.
  • Emily Peters-Kagan is looking for win #3 as she will take on debuting Rose Namajunas. Kagan trains with the world famous Jakcsons/Winkeljohn gym in Albuquerque, NM. She has yet to taste defeat as a pro. Namajunas is undefeated as an amateur, with  two TKO victories.
  • Two featherweights look to make their mark as Tammika Brents takes on a debuting Amanda Bell. Brents went undefeated as an ammy, and just won her debut as a pro with a first round TKO victory. Bell will be making her debut, coming in with a 6-1 ammy record. She has finished all of her wins via KO or TKO.

Leslie Smith is also expected to be competing against a yet to be announced opponent.
