Raquel Pennington Steps Up to Take on Leslie Smith at Invicta 4

Two bantamweights on the cusp of the top ten will hope to make an impact at InvictaFC 4 Jan. 5 in Kansas City, KS.

The promotion announced Monday that InvictaFC 3 fighters Leslie Smith and Raquel Pennington will duke it out in a 135 pound match-up.

Smith (4-2-1) is coming off a TKO win over Katilin Young in a rematch on the promotion’s third card. Smith and Young’s first bout is a contender for fight of the year. Her only losses were to up and coming featherweight Ediene Gomes and batnamweight Kerry Vera.

Pennington (3-2) is looking to get back on the winning track after losing to ranked bantamweight Cat Zingano at InvictaFC 3. Pennington has wins over Sarah Moras and Raquel Pal’aluhi.

The promotion may also being adding one more match to the card later this week.

InvictaFC 4 will take place at Memorial Hall in Kansas City, KS Jan. 5. Tickets are available at Ticketmaster.com for $25.

For those not in the Kansas City area, the event will stream live and free on InvictaFC.com.
