Yamaguchi

Fujii

One of the best pound for pound fighters in the world will fight in her hometown Christmas eve versus one of country’s top stars.

#2 Unified ranked strawweight Megumi Fujii will take on Mei Yamaguchi at Vale Tudo Japan 2012 Christmas eve.The match was announced Wednesday by the promotion.

Fujii (25-2) is coming off a decision loss to the #1 ranked Jessica Aguilar at Bellator in May. Fujii had won three straight before the match. Her only other blemmish was a decision to Zoila Gurgel. The rumor the past few months is that Fujii is contemplating retirement soon, and this could be her last match.

#7 ranked strawweight Yamaguchi (10-4) is coming off a decision win over Emi Tomimatsu at JEWELS this past July. She has yet to be finished in any of her losses.

The match won’t be streamed, but follow WombatSports on twitter for the latest results.
