Texas’s Paulina Granados has proven to be a force at 110 pounds, as she ended 2012 still undefeated in the amateur ranks.
Granados (4-0) earned her first title this past weekend, as she defeated Stephanie Alba for the second time at Garcia Promotions’s “Cage Combat 12″ card in Humble, TX.
It was a battle from the get-go in the five round war for the Cage Combat 110-pound belt. Striking gave Granados an early advantage in the first two rounds. Alba would take it to the ground in round three, with Alba controlling the cage. Alba would regain a striking advantage in round 4, but the two tired combatants duked it out until the bell.
Granados would take a split decision, with the judges score it 49-46, 49-46, and 47-48.
